Certificate IV in Hospitality (Supervision)

Description

Certificate IV in Hospitality (Supervision) provides participants with a suite of skills they need to work in hospitality up to a supervisory role.

This qualifications includes certificates in Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), Food Safety Handler, Food Safety Supervisor, Responsible Service of Gaming (RSG) and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S). The certificates are, in most cases, pre requisites to gaining employment.

Practical classes in coffee making, bar operations and waiter are held concurrently with the short course qualifications. Participants are trained in the "service cycle" and learn everything from setting tables, to seating customers, to taking orders, to serving drinks, serving plates of food, clearing tables and finalising the customer account and then everything in between.

Participants are also trained in bar operations. Participants learn how to set up a bar for service, take drink orders and then prepare and serve alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, including Cocktails. Prepare and finalise customer accounts and process financial transaction. 

Participants learn how to coach other staff in job duties, how to manage a food safety plan and get an understanding of the demands of management.

Participants are also offered the opportunity to complete a Level 2 First Aid certificate, as part of the course.

The course timetable is offered 2 days per week for 32 weeks at Hospitality Training Australia training centres. Students will study this course at our centres at 250 Collins Street, Melbourne (between Swanston Street and Elizabeth Street) and Schon Cafe, Bar & Restaurant, 112 Peel Street, North Melbourne (next to Queen Victoria Market).

The $255.00 enrolment fee entitles eligible individual students to receive:

Trainers work with students on personal grooming, interview skills, provide them a resume and they receive short course certification (RSA, RSF, RSG, OHS, First Aid, Food Safety Supervisor) to add to their resume.

Students are then directed towards applying for well paid, meaningful jobs within the hospitality industry.
